Simple tip 2- What’s your story?
Simple tip 2 – The past doesn’t equal the future
You already learned, in our previous simple tip, that if things aren’t going well in your outer life, it’s because things aren’t going well in your inner life. It’s that simple.
The same holds true for everyone. Me, you, your partner, friends, colleagues, and parents. We were all taught how to think and created most of our beliefs at an early age. These teachings become our conditioning, which leads to automatic responses that can run us for the rest of our lives. Unless, of course, you intercede and revise your past conditioning. This is exactly what we are going to help you to do in this course.
We know already that thoughts lead to feelings, feelings lead to actions, actions lead to results. So, here’s an interesting question: Where do your thoughts come from? Why do you think differently from the next person? Your thoughts originate from the neuropathways you have repeatedly created in your mind. So where does this information come from? It comes from your past programming.
That’s right, your past conditioning determines every thought that bubbles up in your mind. That’s why it’s often referred to as the conditioned mind. To explore this understanding, we can now revise our Process of Manifestation in the following manner: P→T→F→A = R Your programming leads to your thoughts; your thoughts lead to your feelings; your feelings lead to your actions; and all of these lead to your results. Therefore, if you change your neuropathways, by changing your conditioning programs, you take the first vital step to changing your results.
So how are we conditioned?
We are conditioned in three primary ways in every arena of life, including health, wealth, and wellbeing:
Verbal programming: What did you hear when you were young?
Modelling: What did you see when you were young?
Specific incidents: What did you experience when you were young?
The three aspects of conditioning are important to understand. We will go over each one of them in the weeks.
Today we focus on the verbal programming.
Verbal Programming
Let’s begin with verbal programming. What did you hear about the world, about the way to take care of yourself, about money and rich people, about relationships, about other people and specially about yourself when you were growing up?
All the statements you heard about you, health, or wellbeing when you were young continue in your subconscious mind as part of the design that is running your life.
The thing is that when the subconscious mind must choose between deeply rooted emotions and logic, emotions will almost always win.
The 4 key foundations of change
There are four key foundations of change, each of which is essential in reprogramming your mind. They are simple but deeply powerful.
The first element of change is AWARENESS
You can’t change something unless you know it exists.
The second element of change is UNDERSTANDING.
By understanding where your “way of thinking” originates, you can recognize that it must come from outside you. Your parents, your peers, your teachers all had an influence in your “programming”.
The third element of change is DISSOCIATION.
Once you realize this way of thinking isn’t you, you can separate yourself from it. You are an adult now, you can choose what to keep and what to let go, based on who you want to be today and where you want to be tomorrow. You can clearly observe that most of this conditioning that was imprinted in your mind a long, long time ago, may not hold any truth or value for you anymore.
The fourth element of change is RECONDITIONING.
This course will help you recondition your mind so you will create new pathways. You can train your brain as you can train your muscles. You have been training your brain since you were born.
It is up to you to follow my suggestions and most important, to take action to achieve what you want. Being it inner peace, emotional balance, amazing relationships, or better health.
Just like when you go to the gym, your mental muscles are not going to grow instantly but with determination and knowledge I assure you there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Your routine for this week
AWARENESS
Write down all the statements you heard about you when you were young. What did your parents make you think about yourself? How did school moulded the image you have about you? What was your parents’ vision about life, money, health, and well-being?
UNDERSTANDING
Write down how you believe these statements have affected your life so far.
DISASSOCIATION
Can you see that these thoughts represent only what you learned and are not who you are?
Can you see that you have a choice in the present moment to be different?
